For a school project, the kids and I had three minutes to discribe our family.  We decided to borrow the melody of “Our Favorite Things” from Sound of Music to describe our life on our boat.  I hope you enjoy! 🙂

 

We are the Taisey’s who live in a boat

Tied to the dock, it looks like a moat.

200 sq ft is where six of us live,

Here are a few of our favorite things.

Cream-colored pointe shoes, plies in first,

Ballet and Horse lessons, help with our nerves.

Driving from Everett to Bellevue or Stanwood,

These are a few of our favorite things.

Kids in life jackets for safety’s precaution.

Dingy rides, fishing lines, cruising the Sound.

Gorgeous sunsets tuck us in every night,

These are a few of our favorite things.

When the wind blows, when the poop flows,

When we run out of water.

We simply remember our favorite things,

And then we all feel so glad!

Six loads of laundry done in three hours,

Walking a quarter-mile to the public showers,

All of this walking will keep us in shape,

These are a few of our favorite things.

Raindrops on rooftops and seals in the harbor.

Electric kettle and warm soapy water.

Blue Apron meals create yummy plates,

These are a few of our favorite things.

Turn off the heater to use the hair dryer,

Also the microwave, we love dehumidifier.

Inflatable bed we pump every night,

These are a few of our favorite things.

No hot water, or dishwasher,

Please turn up the heater!

We keep repeating, “We love small spaces!”

And this is all worth it….to circumnavigate!!
